Remember the movie “Rudy”? You know, the one where Sean Astin plays a “5 foot nothin, hundred and nothin” hopeful who makes the team, dresses for the last game, storms the field, and sacks the quarterback….twice!?! Well…that’s me, Rich Downie! I like to think of myself as ‘Rudy’ in the world of software development and in the RubyonRails community. Hence the name ‘rudyonrails’. I’ve been glued to RubyonRails since Jan ‘06. I have been working day and night tyring to get my head around this fantastic technology. Without a doubt, I owe most of my progress to Coach Jeff Whitmire(www.diglearning.com). Jeff is the Tiger Woods of software engineering. I shell him constantly with mundane quesitons via email, chat, fax, whatever. He patiently always returns the “Right” answer. Thank you JW! Of course, I need to thank my wonderful wife Lora and for her patience as well. She has put up with me and supported me every step of the way. Thank you Lora!
